Milestone 5 (Sumaiya)
Overview
For milestone 5, we got started with the Beta presentation. As for my contributions, finished up the enemy characters and collaborated on finding possible animations we can use for our game. Throughout the process, we kept our Trello board updated with tasks and attached files to stay organized.
Beta Presentation
With the Beta presentation coming, I chose a template that fits our outer space concept, and shared it with my team members just so we can start planning.Enemy Character Design and Redesign
I have finalized the designs and redesigns for our enemy characters, incorporating feedback from my teammates. These designs are now ready for the modelling phase. As for redesigning the existing enemies, I focused on giving them a more unsettling look to better fit our horror theme. In terms of the final boss design, I based it on the mood board we created and kept it consistent with the remaining enemies.
Browsed Mixamo Animations
As we were planning to incorporate animations into our enemies and main character, we were recommended to use Mixamo's automatic rigging feature to focus on the game implementation, especially since we won't have as much time to rig/animate all the models. Therefore, I assisted my team in browsing some possible animations that we could use for our game characters
Updated Trello Board
Our team has maintained an up-to-date Trello board to track completed and upcoming tasks. A new list was also created to have all the documents/presentations in one list that our team can easily refer to.
Challenges & Successes
I think as a team, we didn't really progress as much as we had intended to, given how busy we have been. However, with the Beta presentation coming up, we should have a more solid/detailed plan for our game's Beta version based on our upcoming to-do tasks to make up for it.
